Known as Keoladeo Ghana National Park, this sanctuary is the haven for all bird lovers from all over the world, all year round. Finally, in 1982, grazing in the park was completely banned by the government thus making it a green haven for birds and animals residing in the bird sanctuary, Bharatpur. 

Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary is a famous avifauna sanctuary that hosts thousands of birds, especially during the winter season. It is also a major tourist destination with scores of ornithologists, photographers and wildlife lovers arriving here in the hibernal season. It was declared a protected sanctuary in 1971. It is also a World Heritage Site. This Ghana National Park is a man-made and man-managed wetland and one of the national parks of India. The reserve protects Bharatpur from frequent floods, provides grazing grounds for village cattle.

What are the winter months in the sanctuary?
