They say that ‘Every winter has its spring’, but let’s be honest – grit alone won’t get you through snowy paths to sliding down icy slopes. Good gear matters. That is why true adventurers understand that the value of reliable, high-performance clothing can make or break every hour of their adventure. That is why many professional trekkers, skiers, and outdoor enthusiasts rely on Kosha clothes for trekking, whose layers keep you happy and warm, and keep the eternal spring alive in your hearts.
If you have never packed for a sub-zero high-altitude trek or an adventurous ski run, worry not, because Kosha’s got gear built for Himalayan trails.

Kosha’s Clothes for Trekking: Engineered for Extremes
One question that pops up right from the get-go is what exactly sets Kosha apart from every other winter sports gear brand flooded in the market. It is the brand’s unwavering commitment to provide a warm hug to its customers, from head to toe, in the form of sustainable, travel-centric, eco-conscious winter designs made in India.
Kosha just doesn’t create winter apparel; rather, it creates tailor-fit pieces that help you to adapt to harsh temperatures, ranging from 15 degrees to -30 degrees.
Each Kosha product is field-tested in real-world conditions, ensuring it meets the rigorous demands of winter sports gear.
Kosha: A Trusted Companion in the Mountains
Kosha clothes for trekking swoop in as a knight in shining armour, proving to be your true companion in the mountains. If you’ve ever trekked in the Himalayan region, or Ladakh, you know that a basic puffer jacket just doesn’t cut it. You need gear that keeps you warm, doesn’t compromise your mobility, and promises you durability on those rugged terrains.
This is where Kosha’s trekking thermals come in and save the day. Kosha’s extreme sports winter gear is crafted specially for these challenges.
-
The brand uses fabric made with a blend of merino wool and bamboo, which is temperature-regulating and odor-resistant, making it not only a perfect fit for your rigorous treks but also for the times when you won’t have access to a wash.
-
Windproof layers, high necks, and snow guards, each feature of Kosha jackets, have been designed to serve the needs of the trekkers. The waterproofing ensures that you stay dry when a brief snowstorm hits, while the breathable panels prevent sweat from being trapped and freezing—the biggest hazard for high-altitude trekking.
-
Trekkers are also enamored with the packing capability of Kosha gear. It is lightweight and compressible, and it occupies very little space in one’s rucksack, leaving room for other essentials like crampons or sleeping bags.
Kosha’s clothes for trekking are the ultimate in warmth and fashion. A perfect blend of comfort and style.
Skiing Gear Clothing: Functionality Meets Style
For skiers, clothing is not just about staying put and warm - it’s all about something that’d allow you to move freely, and dynamically, through the crunchy paths, while claiming the horizons of the sky. Carefully designed, Kosha’s outfits made for conquering snowy slopes incorporate technical textiles and athlete-centric features, making them a perfect fit for your next skiing trip.
Here’s what makes Kosha a snowboarder’s favourite:
-
Unrestricted Movement: Kosha’s skiing gear clothing, such as the Waterproof Ski Pant, features thigh vents for enhanced breathability and gaiters to keep snow out, which makes it the snowboarder's favourite for an exhilarating and comfortable skiing experience.
-
Warmth in Style: Kosha’s sports winter gear, such as its Water-Repellent Puffer Jacket, ensures that the travellers remain stylish while also avoiding the unnecessary bulk, making it your ideal travel companion.
-
Snow-Specific Features: Kosha’s different products, such as the Packable puffer Jacket for men, feature a lightweight design with a removable hood that helps the skiers to adapt to changing weather conditions, at their convenience, thus making it an ideal fit for winter sports gear.
And let’s not ignore the style factor—Kosha’s gear is as Instagram-worthy as it is high-performance. You’ll look sharp on the slopes without compromising on function.

Sustainable, Ethical, and Made for the Planet
Performance aside, athletes today are more and more conscious about the environmental effects their gear has. Kosha is proudly trying to bring about the elimination of single-use plastic in the ready-made garment industry. We use green fabrics like bamboo or organic cotton, and maintain ethical manufacturing practices through their entire supply chain.
We, at Kosha, create pieces that could be worn through multiple seasons, so it does not have to be exchanged for a fast-fashion version. Our repair/reuse scheme tips the scales even more toward a longevity and waste reduction approach favored by athletes who appreciate minimalism and functionality.

What is the one essential winter gear item you never compromise on in cold weather? Why?
“Well, there isn’t one, but 4 essential winter gear items that I’d never compromise on in cold weather.
I love using Kosha’s thermals for my ultra-running adventures. Whether I am running a 5k in my local park or a 100 kilometers in the mountains of South Africa, the thermal is something that I never compromise on, as it’s warm and light, so it doesn’t add too much of a heft to my pack. I have been using Kosha thermals for the past 7 years, and they have held up beautifully. I also prioritize covering my extremities, so great hat, great gloves, great socks, and a great thermal are my go-to picks for my ultra-running adventures, in any weather that there is.” —Rebecca Ume Crook, Co-Founder, Metis Collective

What’s the most challenging weather condition you’ve faced, and how did your gear hold up?
“One of the most challenging winters was in Tromso, the northernmost city in Norway, in February 2022.
It was -11°C with very strong winds, which made it feel like -20°C. The wind was hitting my face, and it was tough getting from one place to another because of the effort it took to get by in those winds!
The only thing that helped was the right gear. It helped gain confidence from the warmth, the balaclava helped buffer the wind, and the glare helped the vision.
For the top, I was wearing 2 thermal tops, a reversible merino wool pullover, and the 4 in 1 jacket.
For the legs, 1 Thermal pair of pants with fleece-lined snow pants. Waterproof gloves, Balaclava, Woolen socks were a saviour!” — Yuktie Jhangiani, Founder, Kosha

Starting with the thermals, they are my must-have for the trip, as they are super lightweight and warm. So, I blindly trust these three Kosha’s products for my winter trip.” — Preeti
