OUR COMMITMENT

Sustainability is a need,
not a trend.

The Himalayas are warming faster than anywhere else on earth. The rivers that feed a billion people begin as glaciers. We build gear for the people who love those places, and that means we cannot build it carelessly.

The clothing and textile industry, which is the world's third largest contributor to plastic waste, also produces 2–8% of global greenhouse gas. Should fashion and comfort cost nature and a healthy lifestyle? Kosha not only acknowledges the issue but also works towards making things better.

HOW WE DO IT

Steps towards a healthy and happy planet

01

Fabric that is built to last, and to breathe

We build with Merino wool and bamboo fibres that are renewable, biodegradable and comfortable. Their durability means garments stay in use longer and reduce unnecessary waste.

02

Those who care, they share

Our rental programme keeps premium winter gear in circulation for many adventures, reducing the need to manufacture new jackets for every traveller.

03

India's only winter wear repair spot

We repair damaged jackets instead of replacing them whenever possible, extending product life and reducing environmental impact.

04

Plastic-free, reusable packaging

Every order is packed using reusable jute bags and fabric scraps instead of single-use plastic, reducing packaging waste without compromising protection.

THE RENTAL PROGRAMME

One jacket.
Fifty mountains.

Going to Spiti for a week? Ladakh for ten days?

You do not need to own a ₹12,000 parka. Rent ours, return it, and it goes to the next traveller, cleaned, repaired and ready. Every rental is one jacket that did not end up in a landfill.

THE MATERIALS

Two fibres. No compromises.

Merino wool

Grown on free-ranging sheep in high-altitude pastures. Shorn once a year, naturally manages moisture and odour, helping your garments stay fresher, lighter and more comfortable for longer.

WOOLMARK CERTIFIED BIODEGRADABLE ANTI-BACTERIAL TEMPERATURE REGULATING

Bamboo

One of the fastest-growing plants on Earth. Bamboo requires no replanting, absorbs more carbon dioxide than many trees and is processed into soft, breathable fibres using responsible methods.

THE HONEST TRUTH

"Change" Comes with
Challenges

Does repairing and testing winter gear reduce sales? Are there customers who prefer sealed transparent plastic bags over eco-friendly alternatives?

Is repairing a five-year-old winter wear a time-consuming and complex process? Is it hard to convince factories to change the way they ship the ready products?

The answers to all these questions are yes, yes and yes. However, steps towards a sustainable, happy future are always worth it, no matter how challenging it is.

"We are going to get both bouquets and brickbats. But we know we are on the right path, so we are just going to continue,"

— YUKTIE JHANGIANI, FOUNDER

Every rented jacket, every upcycled layer, and every plastic-free package at Kosha contributes to a more responsible future for fashion.

LET'S TALK →

OUR PLEDGE

We will never greenwash.

If we have not achieved something yet, we will say so. Our packaging is plastic-free, that's real. Our fibres are natural, that's real.

Our rental programme reduces landfill, that's real. What's still in progress: full Scope 3 mapping, end-of-life recycling, and a wider artisan network. We will update this page as we go.
