This document outlines the terms we agree on when you rent a jacket from Kosha Travel Wear. By signing below, you confirm you understand and agree to these points.

1. The Jacket You Are Renting:

You are renting the specific jacket identified at the time of rental (details like style, size, or ID might be noted by Kosha).
We confirm the jacket is in good, clean condition when you receive it.

2. Your Rental Period:

You choose a rental period of …………………………………………………….
Important: The day you collect the jacket is NOT counted as a rental day. The day you return the jacket IS counted as a rental day.

3. Rental Fees:

The rental fee will be …………………………………………………….
The full rental fee includes the cost of dry cleaning the jacket after every use.

4. Security Deposit:

You will provide a Security Deposit equal to the original cost of the jacket i.e. ……………
This deposit is held by Kosha during the rental period.
The deposit can be paid via Gpay, UPI or Cash. Credit/Debit card payments are not accepted.
When you return the jacket on time and in good condition (allowing for normal use), we will refund your Security Deposit in cash after deducting the agreed Rental Fee.

5. Taking Care of the Jacket:

• You agree to take good care of the jacket during your rental period.
• Use it responsibly for travel and outdoor activities as intended.
• Please do NOT attempt to wash or clean the jacket yourself. We handle all cleaning after return.
• Do NOT make any alterations or modifications to the jacket.

6. Returning the Jacket:

You must return the jacket by the agreed-upon return date between 10a.m. to 2p.m.
Return the jacket to Kosha’s store, 535 Linking Road, Khar (W), Mumbai 400052.
The jacket should be returned in the condition it was received, allowing for normal wear and tear from reasonable use.

7. Policy: Jacket Condition & Security Deposit Impact

Upon return, all rented jackets and snow pants will be inspected by Kosha Travel Wear to assess their condition. We categorize the condition and potential impact on your Security Deposit as follows:

1. Normal Wear and Tear (No Impact on Deposit)

Definition: Minor, expected deterioration that occurs from reasonable, intended use of the garment over the rental period. This does not affect the garment's functionality or aesthetic beyond typical minor signs of use. Kosha covers the cost of addressing normal wear and tear.

Examples:

• Slight scuffs or dirt marks that come out with standard cleaning.
• Minor creasing or wrinkles from packing/wearing.
• Slight loosening of stitching on internal tags.
• Very minor abrasion on high-wear areas that doesn't compromise fabric integrity.

Deposit Impact: Your full Security Deposit (minus the rental fee) will be refunded.

2. Minor Damage (Partial Deduction from Deposit)

Definition: Damage that goes beyond normal wear and tear but is repairable, allowing the garment to be returned to a rentable condition without significantly compromising its look or functionality. This typically results from slight negligence or accidental mishap.

Examples:

• Small (e.g., less than 1-inch) tear or snag in the outer fabric that can be neatly patched.
• Missing single button or snapped component.
• Small, localized stain that requires specialized spot cleaning (beyond standard cleaning) but is removable.
• A zipper that needs a minor repair (e.g., re-aligning teeth, replacing a pull tab).

Deposit Impact: The actual, reasonable cost of repair (including labor and materials ranging from INR… to INR…) will be deducted from your Security Deposit. We will provide an itemized breakdown of these costs.

3. Significant Damage (Substantial Deduction from Deposit)

Definition: Damage that severely impacts the garment's functionality or aesthetic, requiring extensive or specialized repair, or significantly reducing its useful life in the rental fleet. This usually results from clear negligence, misuse, or a more serious accident.

Examples:

• Large tears or multiple tears (e.g., over 1 inch) in the outer shell that compromise insulation or waterproofing.
• Major zipper malfunction requiring full replacement.
• Permanent, unremovable stains (e.g., ink, paint, heavy grease) that render the jacket unrentable to subsequent customers.
• Burns (e.g., cigarette burns, campfire embers).
• Missing or significantly damaged major components (e.g., entire hood, cuff, or a significant portion of lining).
• Any alteration or modification made by the renter.

Deposit Impact: The cost of extensive repairs (ranging from INR… to INR…) will be deducted from your Security Deposit.

4. Irreparable Damage or Loss (Full Deposit Deduction)

Definition: The garment is damaged beyond economic repair, rendered unusable for future rentals, or is not returned at all.

Examples:

• Jacket is lost or stolen during the rental period.
• Catastrophic damage (e.g., completely torn apart, soaked in hazardous chemicals, fire damage) making it impossible or cost-prohibitive to repair.

Deposit Impact: Your entire Security Deposit will be forfeited.

Assessment and Communication Process:

• Inspection: Upon return, Kosha staff will thoroughly inspect the jacket.
• Damage Notification: If any damage beyond "Normal Wear and Tear" is identified, Kosha will notify the Renter within 48 hours of return. This notification will include:
  • Details of the damage.
  • Photographic evidence
  • An initial estimate of repair or replacement costs.
• Deposit Deduction & Refund: The applicable costs will be deducted from your Security Deposit, and the remaining balance (if any) will be refunded within 5 business days from the date of final assessment.

8. Late Returns:

If you return the jacket after the agreed return date, a late fee will apply.
The late fee is the equivalent of an additional week's rental fee for any part of the following week.
Late fees will be deducted from your Security Deposit.

9. Identification Information:

You may be required to provide identification when renting.

10. General Understanding:

This agreement is based on mutual trust and understanding for a smooth rental experience.
